Description
Entopest Diatomaceous Earth
Entopest Diatomaceous Earth
Entopest diatomaceous earth is a natural powder which helps in the control of specific insects including fleas, bed bugs, cockroaches and ants.
This product is also an excellent treatment method for the control of common clothes, pale-backed and case-bearing clothes moth within the early stages of development.
Please note that we do not recommend that diatomaceous earth powder is used as the sole treatment method to control an infestation, this is particularly the case with bed bugs where different approaches should be undertaken.
Diatomaceous earth is an excellent option for controlling external parasites on chickens, such as mites, fleas, lice and other external parasites that might infest feather follicles.
Application Instructions
Vacuum the area before treatment commences. Entopest Diatomaceous Earth natural dusting powder should be sprinkled lightly to the treatment area and then rubbed in with a brush or broom. It is important to finely cover the surface rather than leave bulk and detectable powder.
Powder can also be mixed with water at the rate of 4 tablespoons of dust to 1 gallon (4.5ltr) of water and sprayed on the treatment area.
As the powder doesn’t dissolve, the mixture should be shaken or agitated frequently to ensure the mixture is consistent. The addition of 1 tablespoon of mild detergent to the mixture will help to keep the powder in suspension and distribute it further into cracks and crevices.
Do not vacuum the treated areas for as long as possible after an application. Repeat process weekly until all activity ceases. Use only in dry areas.
Please note that Entopest Diatomaceous Earth should not be used as the sole treatment method but as a combination with other suitable products for pest management such as Entopest Non-Toxic Control Spray and/or Entopest Pheromone/Attractant Traps.
Multi-insect treatment
Organic control
Diatomaceous earth is a natural product which control insects in a physical mode of action.
The diatom remains that make up the powder form of Diatomaceous Earth have razor sharp edges. These edges, when bought into contact with an insect, pierce’s the outer shell which allows room for the Diatomaceous Earth to seep inside the insects body. Once the powder gets inside an insects body it starts to absorb the liquids from the body, killing the insect in the process.
