Roshield Whole Wheat Bait
Roshield Whole Wheat Bait for the control of rats and house mice in and around buildings.
Our wheat is a ready-for-use bait formulated using food grade micronised (high temperature treated) wheat. Micronisation prevents germination and begins the conversion of starches to sugars, sweetening the bait and increasing its attractiveness to rodents.
Roshield Whole Wheat Bait contains an aroma, giving a unique chocolatey smell. Taste adjuvants and sweeteners improve bait ‘take’, and bio-stats inhibit the growth of fungi or bacteria when the bait is used in damp conditions.
Highly palatable and effective against all pest rodents, Roshield Whole Wheat Bait is the ideal bait to use where the target population is feeding on whole-grain foodstuffs.
Important Information
Rodent poison is not an instant solution and can take several days or longer from bait take to control an infestation. Larger infestations will require larger quantities of bait. Therefore, a single purchase of the above kit may not eliminate an entire infestation.
Some areas of the country have known resistance issues to rodenticides, including bromadiolone. If based in or around the Reading area or aware of a localised resistance population, we highly suggest our Roshield brodifacoum options. Qty of sachets required for Control?
The amount of bait required to control an infestation will vary depending on the size of the population, competing for food sources and location. Therefore, it is essential to continue baiting until no further take is observed (max 35 days).
As a rough rule, we recommend a minimum of 600g to control a common rat infestation and 300g for a mouse infestation. However, it is common for more bait to be required.
If you see rodents active within daylight hours, this may suggest that a population is more significant than you initially thought.
A common issue with all rodenticide treatments is under-baiting an active infestation; surveying the area may indicate if you have a more significant infestation (droppings, tunnels etc.).
If baiting around competing food sources such as chicken pens, we recommend removing as much of the competing food source before undertaking a rodenticide treatment. Significant more bait may be required when treating around chickens and similar areas.
Rodent Bait Station Required
Due to recent changes in rodenticide regulations, all non-professional operators must use a tamper-resistant bait station when using rodenticide for rats and mice – this is a condition for all UK & EU registered products.
This listing does not include this bait station; however, a wide range of box kits, including our extremely popular Roshield Baiter stations with wheat, is available.
Roshield Baiter stations are suitable for rats and mice and can be used in at-risk environments such as around pets and other animals.
Smaller single block boxes are available for internal mouse control. This is recommended as mice generally prefer to eat from multiply food sources.
For an average rat infestation, we recommend the installation of 2 bait stations per infestation/garden. For larger areas, additional stations will be required.
