EXTERNAL FAST ACTING POISON CONTROL SOLUTION
Professional quality traps for the control of rats
High-quality rat traps designed for the UK professional industry for reliable control of rats within internal and external environments.
Not all rat traps are manufactured the same; whilst they may look similar in design and appearance, our rat traps vary in several ways, including a welded kill bar, a more sensitive trigger plate, fast catch release and most importantly, a potent spring that can result in a much quicker and humane kill.
Before undertaking more aggressive rodenticide treatments or treating rats with known bait shyness, it is recommended as the first choice.
Instructions included the safe placement and trapping of rats within the package. Support how-to-set video is also available.
It is essential to follow the instructions and prevent children and non-target animals from gaining access. Placement should either be within enclosed environments such as active rat voids, attic, sheds etc. If trapping externally, an additional tamper-resistant bait station (not included) should be used to restrict access.
They are manufactured exclusively for Roshield.
Roshield Professional Traps – What’s the difference?
Welded kill bar
Our Roshield trap kill bar is welded with an outer red plastic sleeve, allowing more force to be transferred from the kill bar to the rat’s body whilst remaining durable. Most rat traps contain a plastic sleeve that acts as a joiner, and the internal kill bar is not welded.
High strength spring
Its often for manufactures to save money by using fewer materials, often in and around the spring area. Therefore, our Roshield traps contain highly tensioned springs, with an additional fourth loop resulting in a kill bar that can undertake the necessary control action.
Sensitive trigger plate & catch
Often overlooked but again an essential part of the trap mechanism. Too hard and the trap will not fire, and too sensitive, the trap will fire before the rat is in the ultimate position. We believe that our Roshield trap has the ultimate balance, which results in a successful trigger resulting in fewer misfires and quicker control results.
Main trap features
- Welded kill bar

- Large central baiting cup
Where to set the traps
Due to the high strength and damage caused to children and non-target animals, we recommend that consideration be undertaken to where the traps are placed. Traps are best placed in areas that rats are active, and when possible, directly within enclosed voids such as under floorboards, behind kitchen plinths, attic spaces or lockable sheds. We do not recommend placing traps in the open such as in living environments, under chairs etc., as rats are more cautious and are unlikely to accept them.
If placed in external environments, we recommend using our lockable tamper-resistant bait station (not included within the listing), which will help prevent children and non-target access. Boxes should be placed around buildings, fence lines and not directly over nesting sites. Kit packs, including our box and traps, are available to purchase separately.
As with all rodent treatments, removing any competing safe food sources; otherwise, control can be complicated and lengthy.
How to use our traps
Bait trap within central trigger plateBait the trap with a suitable attractant such as peanut butter, chocolate spread or our popular rodent attractant syringe bait. Cheese is not considered an appropriate appeal. Its also recommended placing some bait around the trap to encourage feeding. | Place trap in area of infestationFind a suitable place to set the trap. This may be under kitchen cupboards by removing the lower plinths, under floorboards, within a controlled environment such as a lockable shed or attic. If placing outside use within a tamper-resistant bait station. | Set trap by pulling back the top barSet trap by pulling back the top bar until it clicks into the rear catch. Once primed, you should not touch the front plate. Instructions are included within the package and support videos for additional help if required by the user. | Dispose of rat body in general wasteOnce the rat has been trapped, the body should be doubled bagged, zipped tied and disposed of in the general waste. |
