Description
Available in 4 sizes – Suitable for Wasp Catchers for The Garden
Entopest Wasp trap kit
Used by professionals for the control of rogue worker wasps both within domestic and commercial premises such as around patio areas or beer gardens.
Catches the worker scout and prevents communication back to the main nest.
Whilst wasp traps can work throughout the wasp season they can be most effective between August and October. Worker wasps relay on a sugary feed from grubs within their nest however as the nest develops this food becomes less available and wasps start looking for alternative sources, this is when wasps become a nuisance within gardens etc.
We recommend placement of the wasp trap at the earliest point within the wasp season however capture will be minimal as worker wasp are more interested in live insect feed.
Traps should be checked regularly and food replenished as and when required.
Instructions
- Hang trap on an appropriate branch or ledge approx 6-10′ from the ground.
- Remove the lower base
- Fill the base with the following dilation rate
- 1:3 – Monitoring for wasps activity only (Suitable for commercial IPM Monitoring) 1:2 – Wasp activity noted but not a nuisance (Recommended early season) 1:1 – Wasps are becoming a nuisance or a nest is located nearby (Recommended August to October)
- Replace base
- Monitor the trap and replenish mix when trap full
It may be necessary to move traps around or additional traps depending on the size of the property to be covered.
Please Note:
Placement of traps within the early season is highly recommended as this allows for the capture of rogue wasps before they become a nuisance and attached to a particular food source (Used glasses within a beer garden etc)
